We know it takes time to earn back the money we spent to start our business.  However, if it is not showing any progress or signs of growth, then maybe a change is needed.  A shift in strategy, or perhaps a change in business.  

Often during our business' formative years, we do not take in salary.  We instead funnel it to grow the company more.  We end up relying on our savings or credit to get us through.  This is very risky and may leave you with an insurmountable debt at the end.  

The Market Is No Longer There
Any business will require a sizeable market to sustain your dealing.  Without a market to sell to, there is no business.  You may have found your target, or you may even have set your niche.  However, the changing times or shift in interest may leave you without a market to satisfy.  With no market means no sales.  No sales mean no money.  If the money is declining, holding out too long will just cost you more.  Look at the signs and study the trend.

There Is No More Passion
